Types of Vape Coils
Standard Coils:
Standard coils, also known as mouth-to-lung (MTL) coils, have a resistance above 1 ohm. They provide a tighter draw, replicating the sensation of smoking a traditional cigarette. Standard coils are ideal for beginners and those who prefer a discreet vaping experience.
Sub-ohm Coils:
Sub-ohm coils have a resistance below 1 ohm, providing increased vapor production and more intense flavor. Designed for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping, sub-ohm coils are favored by cloud chasers and experienced vapers looking for a more powerful hit.
Temperature Control Coils:
Temperature control (TC) coils allow you to set a specific temperature for your device, ensuring a consistent vaping experience. They help prevent dry hits and burnt wicks by regulating the coil’s temperature. TC coils typically use materials such as nickel, titanium, or stainless steel.
Mesh Coils:
Mesh coils feature a metal mesh that covers the wick, providing a larger surface area for heating e-liquid. This results in faster ramp-up times, more even heating, and improved flavour and vapour production. Mesh coils often have a longer lifespan compared to standard wire coils.
Vape Coil Materials
Kanthal: A popular choice for its durability and affordability, Kanthal coils are suitable for wattage mode vaping and provide a consistent, even heat.
Nichrome: With a faster ramp-up time than Kanthal, Nichrome coils offer a smoother vaping experience but may not be suitable for users with nickel allergies.
Stainless Steel: Compatible with both wattage and temperature control modes, stainless steel coils deliver clean flavor and are less prone to oxidation.
Nickel: Pure nickel coils are exclusively used in temperature control vaping, offering excellent conductivity and temperature regulation but may cause allergic reactions in some users.
Titanium: Another option for temperature control vaping, titanium coils are highly responsive and resistant to oxidation but must be used with caution to prevent overheating.
